Hello! Or should I say "Anyanghaseo"? :0)
Andy and I are still having an absolutely wonderful time here in Korea! It's hard to believe that I've been here over 10 weeks now and Andy's been here about 8 weeks. The time is flying by and it's weird to think that we'll know in a few short months where we're heading next... It's just in and out over here in Korea.
Last weekend we had our first sweep - which is one big squadron party when they're "sweeping out" any officers who've reached the end of the one year tour. There are lots of traditions associated with a sweep and I'm looking forward to the next one in September! Let me say a few words to sum up what happens on a sweep... all the girls jump off a stage in one of the bars into the arms of all the pilots and they throw you up in the air 6-9 times before they put you down. oh, table-surfing. That's all I'll say. That, and it's probably the most fun thing I've ever done while drinking pineapple soju! We also have these fantastic sweep shirts and shorts/skirts, which you have made to ensure you look as absolutely tacky as possible!
Andy got named finally, too, on Saturday night. It's still "Wedge" if you were wondering. That was an interesting process. I got to watch, which I didn't think was something non-squadron people were allowed to do. Pretty sure they modified it for public viewing, though. :)
On Sunday we revisited our adopted orphanage and took them a package we received from Becca's grandparents. The kids went crazy over the toys, but probably more crazy over the digital camera we had with us. One little girl "borrowed" it, but it was like pulling teeth trying to get her to hand it back over! I thought we were going to make the kid cry! She took some fantastic photos, though. There are a few posted at the top of the blog. I will also do a separate blog later that shows some pics from other activities here in Korea.
Andy's going to be in a squadron golf tournament this Saturday. I'm going to watch the guys play and guard the beer supply from the sidelines. :) The Honda finally arrived, but it's still in Seoul at the port - Andy should be able to go get it sometime soon. This week has been relatively busy at school - report cards are due next week and we're having a schoolwide party (Buying Bonanza) on Friday, so we've been preparing for that this week, also.
Speaking of report cards I've got to get back to that, but I'll do my darndest to post again soon! I didn't realize how busy I'd be here - thought I'd have tons of free time to keep up with this and maintaining a picture file on myspace or facebook. Anyway... hope to hear from some of you soon!
Miss you all!
Love,
Becca & Andy
