It's been awhile since our last post, but we've been helter skelter all over the place and busy as little bees. Andy is flying nights right now and I'm trying to get report cards finished by next week. Every weekend has been jampacked with activities hosted by the squadron or my school. Last weekend was Save Your Bacon, which was one huge pork party that included a scavenger hunt around the base (which in turn included alcohol and pork - yum yum). I actually helped with the management of the event, so that left me dressed up as one of Bob Barker's girls in the Price is Right station. After the scavenger hunt groups all came through each station everyone met back at Delta for a pig roast and music/dancing. Then we closed down Delta around 5:35 that afternoon to head to Rocktoberfest, a base wide outdoor fiesta.
Later, about 10ish, we went back to Delta and reopened it for the rest of the night. Oh yeah, Andy's airsoft gun got tossed up on the roof and he thought it'd be a good idea to climb up there to retrieve it. Maybe that part was a good idea, but then he didn't know how to come back down so he ended up jumping. Oh well. They're all just big kids.
This coming up weekend we have a naming on Friday night, followed by a sweep on Saturday and then a morning after Halloween party on Sunday. Did I mention we'll definitely be up all night Saturday watching college football? We will. Stupid time difference.
Thank you everyone who's sent packages here for the orphans! They love the gifts and it's so much fun being able to share with them. And thank you, too, for the care packages for Andy and me. We've got more than enough here, but we love seeing mail in our PO box at the post office. :) So thank you!
